This program is a basic clinic for beginner walkers and runners presented by Mike Acord of John's Run Walk Shop. The program will address the physiology of exercise and why it is important, how to start slowly and avoid injury, why goal setting is important, how running with a group can keep you motivated, proper equipment, injury avoidance and treatment, and a formal 10 week 5K training plan. Come and learn how you can easily transfer your precious home videos into digital format. Transfer costs can be expensive, and you can do this yourself with a home computer, a video player, and some other low cost equipment and software.
You will learn about ways to capture your videos as digital files (AVI files) and then how to compress, convert and burn those files to DVD. You will also learn how to do simple editing of your AVI video files and how to convert them for viewing on your smartphones, Ipads, and tablets. You are welcome to bring one or two sample videos (mini-DV, Hi-8, Digital 8, etc.) that we may use for practice. Registration recommended.
This workshop will be facilitated by Paul Briggs of PandaPix.
