Writing Workshop: Novel Starter Kit

Have you always wanted to write a book, but don't know where to start?  Tammy Blackwell, bestselling young adult author will be hosting a free three-hour writing workshop to give you all the tools you will need to finish your first young adult novel. The workshop will cover everything from sketching out fictional worlds and characters, to how to keep yourself on track and motivated throughout the writing process. For teens and adults. Registration required.

Neighborhood Youth Council

High school students will discuss current events throughout the city as well as identify ways they can connect with their  local city government to voice concerns and ideas for solutions they have about their community. The program will consist of a community service project in their specific community/district; students will  document their experience using the arts, theater, spoken word, photography, etc. which will be presented to their council member.
