It's summer and that means vacation time, therefore we'll be celebrating with the Recipe Road Trip Edition of Bite Club! We'll be cooking our way across the USA with cookbooks focusing on Americana recipes, such as nostalgic dishes, bakes from different states, and diner food. Members can choose a recipe from one of the cookbooks provided or use their own cookbook/recipe to contribute a dish.

A special presentation on "Women Spies of the American Revolution" at 2 p.m., as well as remarks by special guests, live music, and special tours of the Central Library Gallery exhibit, "Revolutionary Threads," with the descendants of the Patriots whose lives are featured in the exhibit. Organized by the Transylvania Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

We will be following a series of tutorials that start with the basics at our first meeting and build on those skills with each class that follows. "When Javier Zamora was nine, he traveled unaccompanied by bus, boat, and foot from El Salvador to the United States to reunite with his parents. This is his memoir of that dangerous journey, a nine-week odyssey that nearly ended in calamity on multiple occasions. It's a miracle that Javier survived the crossing and a miracle that he has the talent to now tell his story so masterfully.

Children 7 and under must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver. Please note that we will be building with the classic Lego bricks that contain small parts.

Let's explore how our senses affect our eating experience and discuss some activities that allow us to have playful experiences with food. Parents, caregivers, and children are invited to join the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service to learn how using our senses can make eating a more enjoyable experience. Registration is recommended but not required.

Join Northside staff and learn to make a simple, traditional Cathedral Windows quilt. Make one block each month and you will make a finished small quilt or throw by the end of 12 months! Fabric and sewing tools provided while supplies last. Prerequisites: you must already be able to thread a needle and hand sew a straight stitch and a slip stitch. Please register if you plan to attend.
