Local @ Your Library: Fact and Fiction in Colson Whitehead's The Underground Railroad

Amanda Higgins of the Kentucky Historical Society discusses the ways in which history influenced how Whitehead wrote this award-winning novel, but also how he took liberties in telling the story. Examples from history will be used to show how actual, historical black women lived in Kentucky. Registration recommended.
