Ali, a small-town gal with a great voice, leaves a troubled life behind and follows her dreams to Los Angeles. She lands a job as a cocktail waitress at the Burlesque Lounge, a once-majestic theater that houses an inspired musical revue led by Tess, the proprietor.

This month's theme is books that are LGBTQ+ centered. Pick any book you want that fits the theme and come discuss it with friends! Each month, we will discuss books in a different genre and everyone will talk about the book they chose to read. Spoilers may occur, so please be advised.

Participants are welcome to drop-in anytime during Open STEAM Play and stay as little or as long as you would like!

Kevin Lane Dearinger [Dare-in-jer] [he, his] is a retired Broadway actor-singer and English teacher. His publications include The Theatrical Life of Eleanor Robson Belmont, The Bard in the Bluegrass, Marie Prescott, Clyde Fitch and the American Theatre, several volumes of poetry, two memoirs (Bad Sex in Kentucky and On Stage with Bette Davis), as well as several plays.

The weekly classes will be informal and guided by a moderator.  EVERYONE is welcome - ANY native language, ANY English level. Join the Fayette County Extension & Master Gardeners for FREE plant giveaways in May, June and July at Northside!  Prepare your spring and summer garden with free plants in May, then learn to attract pollinators with more FREE plants and seeds in June, and in July join us for more FREE fall garden and herb seeds.

Kristen Pearson of Glitter Green Thumb will walk attendees through growing an at-home pumpkin patch and how to successfully grow all of these beautiful options in this FREE workshop. Registration requested.

Are you interested in enhancing your Spanish speaking abilities? If so, we would like to invite you to our weekly group meeting. Our friendly group is open to everyone who wants to practice speaking Spanish in a supportive and welcoming environment. You will have the opportunity to meet new people who share your interest in the language and culture.
