Learning doesn’t stop at the end of the school day. The Lexington Public Library is here to support your education at every level, from birth through college, with skill-building tools, live tutoring, standardized test prep, after-school programs, and more.

Improve a skill, learn a new language, get live homework help, and more, all at the click of a button and free with your library card. Your username is your library card number and your PIN is the last four digits of the phone number on file for your account. LPL After School

LPL After School

LPL After School is a FREE after-school drop-in program for kids aged 5-12 and a caregiver that takes place Monday through Friday 3:00pm-4:45pm at Marksbury Family Branch and 3:00pm-5:00pm at Northside Branch. Join us for snacks, STEAM and enrichment activities, and homework help from one of our volunteers. No need for children and caregivers to register - just show up! Activities provided courtesy of CommonSpirit Health. Snacks will be provided to youth age 18 and younger courtesy of God's Pantry.

On Saturdays, snacks with enrichment activities are offered from 3pm-4pm.

Teachers & Educators

The library is here to give you the extra support you need to thrive in your classroom, whether you’re looking for supplemental curriculum, one-on-one assistance from a librarian, or a longer loan period on materials checked out through the library.

Teacher Cards are designed specially for educators in Fayette County, with an increased reserve limit of 30 items and a loan period of 6 weeks on 28-day items.  You can apply for a Teacher Card at any of our locations.

Storytime Kits

Preschool Storytime Kits are for classroom use and may be borrowed for 2 weeks. Each kit contains 5-7 books, a binder with songs, action rhymes and fingerplays, and several classroom manipulatives for activities.

Bucket of Books

Bucket of Books is designed to supplement your curriculum with specially-selected books on a particular topic or for your students' pleasure reading. A Teacher Card is needed.
