Book a Librarian

Meet with a librarian for one-on-one consultation.  Appointments are scheduled Monday-Friday during Library business hours and typically last 30 to 45 minutes.

Suggest a Purchase

The Lexington Public Library accepts recommendations for additions to our collection. All requests will be reviewed and evaluated based on the library's selection criteria. If the requested material meets the library's needs and criteria, the item will be purchased as funding allows.  Thank you for helping us improve our collection.

Suggest a Purchase Guidelines:

  • If a title was published more than 10 years ago, please consider requesting it through interlibrary loan.
  • Titles no longer under copyright, including many classics, are available in eBook and eAudio formats for free through Project Gutenberg.
  • We cannot accept requests for magazine subscriptions through Suggest a Purchase.

 
Please note:

  • A valid library card is required to submit a purchase suggestion.
  • Submissions count toward your holds limit.
  • You can monitor the status of your request in your online account. Submissions will appear in the Purchase Requests area. Once a request has been reviewed by library staff, it will disappear from this list.
  • If the item is ordered, a hold will automatically be placed on your behalf and will appear in the Holds area. (Holds are placed on physical items only. Customers can place holds on digital items as soon as they appear in our digital collection.)
