CivicLex's Workshops are designed to help local residents learn about local government.  

Join us at Eastside Branch for a 4 week session of a Spanish conversation group designed just for kids! Here, you will be able to practice your Spanish with others, build confidence and strengthen your vocabulary.

Meet with representatives from KHEAA to discuss how to file the common app and other college applications, as well as how to pay for college. 

We'll have laptops and other supplies on hand to support you getting your apps in before November 1st!

Science and art combine with cyanotype! We'll learn about the cyanotype process, as well as participate in it by using leaves, flowers and other plants to create images on sensitized paper. Ages 11+

Participants are encouraged to take the skills into their neighborhoods to map our tree canopy. The Adopt-a-Tree program was created by the Urban Forest Initiative in 2015, and allows tree lovers to join a community of tree keepers across the state. The Urban Forest Initiative collects this information to map all trees adopted across the Commonwealth.

Join Northside staff and learn to make a simple, traditional Cathedral Windows quilt. Make one block each month and you will make a finished small quilt or throw by the end of 12 months! Fabric and sewing tools provided while supplies last. Prerequisites: you must already be able to thread a needle and hand sew a straight stitch and a slip stitch. Please register if you plan to attend.

Learn how to turn your ideas into a manga-style comic page. In this workshop, we’ll explore manga art, character designs, poses, panel layouts, and simple storytelling techniques that make manga so exciting to read. Whether you’re a beginner or already love to draw, you’ll leave with your very own comic page and the basics to keep creating.

The documentary features archival photographs of Maddoxtown and it's residential family as well as Faraway Farm, where Ms. Williams' father worked as a groom for notable thoroughbred racehorses, including the Horse of the Century, Man o' War. 

Discover the process of bringing a music video to life in this exclusive workshop with local videographer and photographer Archie Moore. Using the Big Blue video by award wining Hip-Hop artist Tony Wavy as a case study, Archie will walk participants through every stage of production.
