We meet once a month at the Northside Branch.
Even with our best intentions, we may not be able to avoid natural disasters in our lifetime. Whether it is a fire, flood, ice storm, or other significant weather event, we can take several actions related to food access, food safety, and water quality when responding to natural disasters. The goal is to keep you and your family fed, healthy, and safe when responding to any disaster.
City budgets are an expression of what a community values. This workshop is all about understanding how your tax dollars get to the city, and then how and what city government invests that money into. This workshops includes a mock budgeting process to help you understand the trade-offs and negotiations in the process.

Join us at Eastside Branch for a 4 week session of a Spanish conversation group designed just for kids! Here, you will be able to practice your Spanish with others, build confidence and strengthen your vocabulary.
This beginner workshop is all about the who, what, and why of local government. We’ll help you understand how Lexington’s local government is structured, who is in charge of what, and how legislation gets made. The workshop includes an interactive activity to learn more about the people behind local government.
A bounty of wonders await you at the Renaissance Faire! Activities include archery, axe throwing, a variety of craft tables, and a stage combat lesson taught by the wonderful folks of the Kentucky Shakespeare Company. Plus, we'll have free food and drinks! While supplies last.
