May is National Salad Month, therefore we'll be celebrating with the "Romaine Calm: Salad Edition" of Bite Club! Members can choose a recipe from one of the cookbooks provided or use their own  cookbook/recipe to contribute a dish. If it's your first time, you can simply come to taste, discuss, and enjoy. Lettuce turnip the beet!

To honor the Mexican-American heritage that celebrates the battle won over the French at the Battle of Puebla, Eastside will host a program designed for preschoolers. We will create take-home crafts like papel picado, musical instruments, pinatas and have some in-house face painting.

This month, we’re making mie goreng - a delicious Indonesian stir-fried noodle dish - in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. For ages 7–12. Registration required.

Visit us weekly for gardening tips and to get advice for your gardening problems! Master Gardeners will also provide free seeds, plants, resources.

With National Nurses day being May 6th, Eastside will host a creative program where children can create their own stethoscopes, care for stuffed animals in a “Teddy Bear Clinic,” and explore a pretend doctor’s office. Along the way, they’ll learn about helping others, staying healthy, and the important role nurses play in our communities.

We will discuss:

How to start a project
How to use templates, elements and text
content creation apps
Generative AI tools
Using your own images
Using Canva in the Makerspace

For ages 13+ only

Registration is not required, but is recommended to assure you have a seat in the class.
