Located on the second floor of the Eastside Branch, the Makerspace is a collaborative workspace for making, learning, exploring, and sharing. Through the intersections of technology, science, art, and culture, the space encourages entrepreneurship, personal growth, and artistic expression.
The Makerspace seeks to create a community of makers and crafters organized around a shared space. This enables makers from all walks of life to invent, build, collaborate, and share ideas.
The Makerspace is available for teens and adults (ages 13+).
Customers have an $8 credit to use between the Makerspace at Eastside, Digital Studio at Northside and the Kloiber Foundation STEAM Lab that renews each month.
Supplies like buttons and PLA filament may be purchased in the Makerspace. Equipment like the Cricut Maker, sewing machines, and tabletop kiln may be used with your own materials free of charge. Please ask an Experiential Learning Associate for more details before use.
The Makerspace is a resource for programming and education on laser engraving, printing, button making, sewing, 3D printing, Cricut making, and other skills that makers might need to further cultivate and use for the development of our community.
Programs:
This space supports several programs at Eastside, including specialized programming hosted in collaboration with partners in the community.
Open Studio:
Open Studio is regular hours in which creators can use the Makerspace to work on individual and group projects.
