Join the Lexington Public Library's Kentucky Room staff for a day of genealogy and local history.

Genealogists and historians Pam Brinegar, Mike Denis, and Amanda Higgins will present on different topics of interest.

Free. Registration required.

In his book, Givens chronicles his early years, growing up in a housing project in Lexington, and his success with UK men’s basketball through his time with NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and the Japan Basketball Association, his career as a college and NBA television color analyst, and his recent appointment as a commentator for the UK Sports Network.

City budgets are an expression of what a community values. This workshop is all about understanding how your tax dollars get to the city,
and then how and what city government invests that money into. This workshops includes a mock budgeting process to help you understand the trade-offs and negotiations in the process.

Length: 75 minutes

The weekly classes will be informal and guided by a moderator.  EVERYONE is welcome - ANY native language, ANY English level. Join instructors from Kentucky Refugee Ministries for this free citizenship class. Student must be a Green Card holder for at least 4 years and 9 months. No registration required. *NOTE class will begin meeting on Wednesday evenings beginning February 28, 2024.
