Grand Opening set for Saturday, March 9

Lexington, Kentucky (January 17, 2024) – Lexington Public Library is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the Marksbury Family Branch of the Lexington Public Library.

Festivities include a Media Day event on Friday, March 8 from 8:30-10am and a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, March 9 (more details coming soon). The current Village Branch will remain open through 6pm on Friday, February 23.

The governance of Lexington Public Library is under the direction of 7 Trustees and up to 10 Advisors who guide the long-term strategies for the Lexington Public Library, including the long range plan, annual budget cycle, advocating for the library and for library customers, and policy recommendations.

Please complete this form to request a Preschool Storytime Kit.  Kits may be borrowed for 2 weeks.  Each kit contains: 5-7 books, a binder with songs, action rhymes, and fingerplays, and several classroom manipulatives for activities.

Northside Branch

A FREE afterschool drop-in program at the Northside and Village Branches for kids aged 5-12 and a caregiver, 3 pm - 5 pm Monday through Friday. Join us for snacks, STEAM and enrichment activities, crafts, reading or homework help from one of our volunteers. No need to register - just show up! Snacks provided to youth age 18 and younger courtesy of God's Pantry.
