Visit us weekly for gardening tips and to get advice for your gardening problems! Master Gardeners will also provide free seeds (or plants, when available) and gardening education resources.

Are you interested in enhancing your Spanish speaking abilities? If so, we would like to invite you to our weekly group meeting. Our friendly group is open to everyone who wants to practice speaking Spanish in a supportive and welcoming environment. You will have the opportunity to meet new people who share your interest in the language and culture.

Based on historical records, secondary sources, and oral history interviews with quilters across Kentucky, Johnson discusses 19th century quilts made by black women living and working on slave plantations, traditional quilts made by African American women of the 20th century, as well as contemporary art quilts made by women of all cultural groups of the 21st century.

Registration is required; the book is available for pick up at the Beaumont Branch’s front desk. If you have any questions, please email mstout@lexpublib.org.

Join Northside staff and learn to make a simple, traditional Cathedral Windows quilt. Make one block each month and you will make a finished small quilt or throw by the end of 12 months! Fabric and sewing tools provided while supplies last. Prerequisites: you must already be able to thread a needle and hand sew a straight stitch and a slip stitch. First, we'll learn about mathematician and World War II hero Alan Turing. Then we'll try our hand at some codebreaking of our own. Ages 12+

The weekly classes will be informal and guided by a moderator.  EVERYONE is welcome - ANY native language, ANY English level.
