Join the experienced instructors from Kentucky Refugee Ministries for an informative and free citizenship class designed to assist individuals on their path to naturalization. This class is open to all participants who have held a Green Card for a minimum of 4 years and 9 months.

Join Northside staff and learn to make a simple, traditional Cathedral Windows quilt. Make one block each month and you will make a finished small quilt or throw by the end of 12 months! Fabric and sewing tools provided while supplies last. Prerequisites: you must already be able to thread a needle and hand sew a straight stitch and a slip stitch. Come experience the voices of the Library's New Hip-Hop & Poetry Club as members perform original lyrics, rap verses, and spoken-word pieces. This showcase highlights their work in writing, recording and performance skills —all coming together on one stage.

Enjoy a 45-minute Creative Movement class exploring rhythm, locomotor, and non-locomotor movement as well as story-dancing. Open to 10 children ages 3 - 5. Presented by Bluegrass Youth Ballet. Wear comfortable clothes and socks.

The program for Ballet Folklorico Tradiciones de mi Tierra begins with an exciting showcase of traditional Mexican dances that highlight the rich cultural heritage of various regions in Mexico. Performance features vibrant costumes, music, and energetic choreography, capturing the essence of the folk traditions.

Join us for a fun, hands-on musical adventure! In this workshop, kids ages nine and up will explore the exciting world of the orchestra and its instrument families — strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.

Adult class will focus on the Harlem Renaissance (1918–1937) This was a cultural movement that celebrated Black identity, creativity, and intellectual achievement, particularly in Harlem, New York. Black artists played a pivotal role in shaping the visual representation of this era, using their work to express cultural pride, challenge stereotypes, and celebrate African heritage.

First, we'll have keyboards available so that school-age kids, teens, and adults can?try out the program for themselves! This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience with music.

Beginning English classes are held twice weekly to help participants improve English language reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.  Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
