Lexington, Kentucky (April 12, 2023) – The Lexington Public Library will be Fine Free for all materials, effective immediately, following a vote at today’s regularly scheduled monthly board meeting. Lexington Public Library customers will no longer incur fines for late, damaged, or lost library materials. Additionally, the Library has forgiven all current, outstanding fines

The Eastside Branch Makerspace, located at 3000 Blake James Drive, is a collaborative workspace for ages 13 and up to make, learn , explore, and share, free of charge. Staff are available during open studio hours to assist in projects of all kinds, or contact Makerspace staff to schedule one-on-one help. Not sure where to start? The Eastside Makerspace also offers regular workshops that introduce participants to new skills, technology, and equipment. Planning to bring a group of 10 or more? National Library Card Sign-Up Month is an annual invitation to discover (or rediscover) all that a free library card has to offer. This year, with support from local business partners, your library card can also get you great deals at participating shops and restaurants throughout September.

Central Library - Farish Theater

This month features Pat Harbison on trumpet, Meghan Pund on clarinet and saxophone, Diego Lyra on piano, Dave McWhorter on drums, and Danny Cecil on bass. Live jazz the second Thursday of every month.

Central Library - Kloiber Foundation STEAM Lab
Join us for a fun and interactive STEAM Storytime, where preschoolers will explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through engaging stories, hands-on activities, and creative play!

Northside Branch - Classroom

Watercolor painting club with a Youtube lesson each month suitable for beginners, dilettantes, and anyone who just wants to hang out and paint with us. Registration required so I will be able to purchase enough supplies for everyone. This program is for adults. Library card not required, just register for each month you plan to attend.
