Outfitted with current high-tech and low-tech tools, the Makerspace is designed to promote education and cultivate a do-it-yourself spirit for the whole family. Staff are available during open studio hours to assist in projects of all kinds, or contact Makerspace staff to schedule one-on-one help. Not sure where to start? Beginning English classes are held twice weekly to help participants improve English language reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. With National Nurses day being May 6th, Eastside will host a creative program where children can create their own stethoscopes, care for stuffed animals in a “Teddy Bear Clinic,” and explore a pretend doctor’s office. Along the way, they’ll learn about helping others, staying healthy, and the important role nurses play in our communities.

This class covers basic animation principles—like squash and stretch, anticipation, and timing—while helping students produce their own short animated clips.
