Daryl R. Privott, Ph.D. is a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the American Library Association and has been a fan of libraries since his youth growing up in Washington, DC. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Adult & Higher Education Graduate Program at Morehead State University. Prior to his faculty appointment at Morehead in 2013, he has experience managing higher education campuses, university libraries, working for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in Washington, DC. and working as a Sign Language interpreter.

This beginner workshop is all about the who, what, and why of local government. We’ll help you understand how Lexington’s local government is structured, who is in charge of what, and how legislation gets made. The workshop includes an interactive activity to learn more about the people behind local government.
Length: 75 minutes
Learn tools to regulate during stressful moments! Participants will practice slow moving yoga on the floor in a dim space. Every participant will have time to craft on their own project - bring your own (such as crochet, sketching, journaling) or work on a provided rock art craft. For ages 13-17, registration required.
Bring your sketchbook and favorite art supplies for a chilled out afternoon of creating art! We'll have music, guided exercises to get your creativity flowing, and a supportive environment for learning. Fight art block, make connections, improve your drawings, or just come hang out to relax!
