Lexington Public Library Foundation’s 2021 Booktacular a Major Success

Virtual event raises over $50,000 for essential programs and services

Lexington, Kentucky (November 10, 2021) – The Lexington Public Library Foundation’s 2021 Virtual Bond-themed Booktacular presented by Community Trust Bank on Saturday, October 30th was a major success, raising over $50,000 for essential Library programs and services.

This year’s Booktacular is benefiting programs related to workforce development and K-12 learning recovery as the Library’s Education Department supports our city’s continuing efforts to support those most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Small gatherings of family, friends, and book clubs played a critical role in the success of Booktacular.

“Once again, Lexingtonians rose to the occasion and through their generosity, are making an indelible impact on the lives of children, families, and individuals most in need of Library services during these unprecedented times,” said Lexington Public Library Executive Director Heather Dieffenbach.

Booktacular guests were (virtually) treated to a delicious martini (shaken, not stirred) cocktail demonstration, live-music from the Keith McCutcheon Jazz Ensemble Experience, and plenty of 007-inspired entertainment.

The Lexington Public Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports Lexington’s public library system with advocacy, private funding, and strategic partnerships.  Private funding supports special projects and initiatives within the library system, enabling the Library to better support the people of Lexington.
