This month features Holden Bitner on cello and Paige Crain on piano performing work by Massenet, Boulanger, Poulenc, and Debussy. Classical Music Sundays presents live classical music the third Sunday of every month, September through May, with EKU music professor Bernardo Scarambone as emcee.

Voice, piano, and instruments will be raised in song to the music of Anthony Philip Heinrich, Kentucky's Own "Beethoven of America." Featuring University of Kentucky Music Professor Emeritus Ron Pen, the Eastern Kentucky University School of Music, and other regional musicians.

The United States Semiquincentennial, also called the Bisesquicentennial, the Sestercentennial, or the Quarter Millennium, will be the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. Come celebrate 250 years of freedom and listen to patriotic music played by a small ensemble.

The captivating story of a record-setting nineteenth-century black jockey told in poetry. In this creative foray into persona poems, Walker immerses himself in the life of African American jockey Isaac Burns Murphy (1861–1896). The son of a slave, Murphy’s legendary career riveted the attention of the nation and established him as one of the greatest jockeys of all time.

We will explore how AI can support creativity by generating art and stories. We will create characters, experiment with different styles, and remix our ideas using AI tools. The session ends with sharing our creations and reflecting on the creative process.

With National Nurses day being May 6th, Eastside will host a creative program where children can create their own stethoscopes, care for stuffed animals in a “Teddy Bear Clinic,” and explore a pretend doctor’s office. Along the way, they’ll learn about helping others, staying healthy, and the important role nurses play in our communities.
