Are you curious about animals from Australia or Butterflies? Maybe you want to learn more about dinosaurs or puppet-making. In each Curious Crafting session we will explore a new topic, read a book, and make a craft to take home!

Kids can try on wings and wave magic wands while practicing brushing, sorting foods, and exploring real dentist tools. Goodie bags included. For ages 2-7. No registration required.
Join us for an evening of music and creativity at the library! The Song Farmers, a local collective of talented musicians, are inviting everyone to sing, play, and enjoy popular tunes together. Bring your favorite craft project or try one of the fun craft activities we’ll provide while you listen, sing along, or even pick up an instrument and join the band!
Presented in partnership with the University of Kentucky School of Information Science, this session introduces us to the basics of artificial intelligence. We will learn what AI is, how to ask effective questions, and how AI can help solve everyday problems.
Creating your own DIY gel air freshener is a good way to know what is in it and can make it any scent you want without it being overpowering. Peppermint and lemon are a great combination to help keep the air fresh and your nose clear. Air fresheners with essential oils are easy to make so you will be able to make quite a few in no time at all. All materials provided but are limited.
We will explore how AI can support creativity by generating art and stories. We will create characters, experiment with different styles, and remix our ideas using AI tools. The session ends with sharing our creations and reflecting on the creative process.

Frannie Preston (University of Kentucky Department of Forestry and Natural Resources Extension), will teach you how to find and identify wildlife signs and learn how biologists use these signs as a tool for research.

With National Nurses day being May 6th, Eastside will host a creative program where children can create their own stethoscopes, care for stuffed animals in a “Teddy Bear Clinic,” and explore a pretend doctor’s office. Along the way, they’ll learn about helping others, staying healthy, and the important role nurses play in our communities.
