Lexington Food Memories: Writing Workshop with Sylvia Lovely
Registration required. | Check availability and register
This workshop welcomes all experience levels and will introduce you to expressing your own food memories in writing. Like many past participants, you’ll leave inspired to collect and share your life’s stories for yourself and future generations. Lexington’s food history is a tapestry woven from every generation’s flavors and traditions, uniting our community and honoring the meals, people, and creativity that make our town unique.
A former CEO, a lawyer by profession and a restauranteur, Sylvia turned to teaching her signature class, “Writing and Sharing the Stories of Your Life,” an interactive workshop where participants write and share their stories. She teaches in a variety of settings including for a number of years at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning. Her latest venture is a book and podcast entitled, “My Family Tree Food & Stories” where she and her partner, Nancy May, explore the intersection of the universal language of food and family traditions. She is also an author with three other books. She is often referred to as the Chief Inspirer and Encourager of her students to release the power of storytelling to change their lives.
