Lexington, Kentucky (August 24, 2021) – The Lexington Public Library today announced that it will hold a grand opening of the new and expanded Children’s Area at Central Library on Wednesday, August 25th from 10am-6pm.

The new space, located on the 4th floor of Central Library, boasts two children’s play area, an enlarged space for programs, an art area, and a large collection of children’s books, magazines, and movies.  The grand opening will feature take-home crafts and library give-aways during the regular hours at Central Library.

“Children learn best when given the opportunities to read, talk, play, sing, and write, the key elements of early childhood education,” says Executive Director Heather Dieffenbach.  “We expanded our children’s space in order to offer more ways for them to learn and explore the world around them.”
