Calling all adults! Join us for a relaxing hour as we follow along with a video and learn to paint. We meet every month on the last Monday of the month. All skill levels invited. Materials will be provided as supplies last. Registration Requested.
Join us for an evening with acclaimed poet, author, and educator Frank X Walker, a pioneer of the Affrilachian literary movement and former Kentucky Poet Laureate. Professor Walker will share insights from his groundbreaking work, discuss the power of storytelling in shaping cultural identity, and reflect on his journey as a writer and advocate for Appalachian voices.
This month features a string quintet led by Nathan Jasinski on cello. They'll be performing Franz Schubert's String Quintet in C Major. Classical Music Sundays presents live classical music the third Sunday of every month, September through May, with EKU music professor Bernardo Scarambone as emcee.
As part of the Central Kentucky Concert Band's celebration of its first fifty years, a saxophone trio, composed of CKCB members, will present an hour-long program at the Tates Creek Branch Library. The ensemble has a large repertoire of classical and traditional tunes, most of which were custom-arranged or composed specifically for this trio.
Participants will engage in interactive simulations, fingerprinting activities, and meet with a grad student from University of Kentucky!
We will have special guest Uneeda K. Bryant, DVM Associate Professor of Veterinary Pathology and Veterinary Pathologist at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Bryant will be bringing heart specimens for participants to get an up close look!
Participants are welcome to drop-in anytime between 3:30-5:30 pm and stay as little or as long as you would like!

Practice your English speaking skills in a group meeting every week. In this casual class we will practice & improve your English. Intermediate English listening comprehension, reading practice & conversation with an emphasis on cultural topics. For adults. Registration is not required. FALL CLASSES BEGIN AUGUST 11.
This showcase is a chance to meet local high school students from FCPS who have partnered with local companies to bring their creativity, solutions, and advanced technology to the table.
Experience the impact these students are making, ask questions, and enjoy the hands-on experiences with immersive computing, social robotics, and generative AI.
February is Black History Month, so we will celebrate with an "African American Cookbook Edition"! African American Cuisine, often called Soul Food, has a rich heritage with its roots in the rural South and the culinary innovations of traditional West African dishes. Members can choose a recipe from one of the African American cookbooks provided or use their own recipe to contribute a dish.
Live jazz the second Thursday of every month. Reservations suggested.
