Most everyone is familiar with marigolds, but many view them as common. Marigolds are wonderfully easy garden plants that offer a much wider range of options than many realize. In this class, we will discuss all things marigold, from the tiny little ones to the massive giants. We will provide seeds for some exciting and unusual varieties. 

The wildly popular zinnia is a favorite but often prone to disease problems. We will introduce you to improved varieties that will impress friends and neighbors. You will be amazed by the bloom size, disease resistance, and super-bright colors. We will provide seeds of a few fun varieties.

Join us for an evening with acclaimed poet, author, and educator Frank X Walker, a pioneer of the Affrilachian literary movement and former Kentucky Poet Laureate. Professor Walker will share insights from his groundbreaking work, discuss the power of storytelling in shaping cultural identity, and reflect on his journey as a writer and advocate for Appalachian voices.
