Annual event dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of year-round teen services

Lexington, Kentucky (September 29, 2022) – This October, Lexington Public Library will offer a month of free youth programming for teens during TeenTober.  TeenTober is an annual celebration organized by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) to highlight year-round opportunities for teens within their local public library systems.

Lexington Public Library’s TeenTober offerings include Beginning Salsa Dance Workshops, Blackout Poetry, Virtual Reality Roller Coasters, Stranger Things-inspired escape room, and much more. For a complete listing, please visit lexpublib.org/teens. Programs are free of charge, but some programs may limit the number of participants and/or require registration.

“Teen programming helps young people to explore new interests, meet new friends, and pursue their passions,” said Lexington Public Library Executive Director Heather Dieffenbach. “TeenTober is a time to show teens what fun they can find within our public libraries and to highlight some unique offerings for this age group.”  A full list of TeenTober programs is also attached.
