Visit us weekly for gardening tips and to get advice for your gardening problems! Master Gardeners will also provide free seeds, plants, resources.

Beginning English classes are held twice weekly to help participants improve English language reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.  Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Jazz at the Library celebrates its 200th performance with Grammy-award winning musician Zach Brock. The Lexington native will perform on violin with Brandon Coleman on guitar, Matt Wiles on bass, and Paul Deatherage on drums.

An exhibit of reproduction uniforms and clothing worn during the American Revolution, including those of men, women, and children, combined with prints, maps, flags, objects, and text telling the stories of their wartime experiences. Organized and created by the Transylvania Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Herbs are usually what give many of our favorite foods their characteristic taste, like the boldness of a pasta sauce or the depth of a savory soup or stew. Generally, these ingredients add to the dish by providing a new dimension of flavor.

You can have a nice lawn without excessive fertilizer or chemical pest control. We will discuss sustainable alternatives to traditional lawn care strategies. The emphasis will be on working with nature and understanding the biology of cool-season lawn grasses.  Learn why late summer is the best time to seed and why common fertilization practices are often not the best approach.

Join us at the Beaumont Branch for a special author event with New York Times bestselling author Patti Callahan Henry on Sunday, May 3rd at 2:00 PM. Patti Callahan Henry will discuss her writing life and the stories and history that inspire her beloved novels, followed by a Q&A.

To honor the Mexican-American heritage that celebrates the battle won over the French at the Battle of Puebla, Eastside will host a program designed for preschoolers. We will create take-home crafts like papel picado, musical instruments, pinatas and have some in-house face painting.
