Make buttons and magnets using equipment and supplies available in the Makerspace.
The Eastside Makerspace offers 1.25” and 2.25” button makers for buttons and magnets. The Marksbury Family Branch Makerspace offers 2.25” button makers for buttons and magnets and 1” button makers for keychains, earrings, and paperclip bookmarks. Button, magnet keychain, earring, and bookmark materials are available to purchase.

Celebrate Lexington, Kentucky’s 250th anniversary all year long. Join us for programs, galleries, podcasts, and more highlighting our city’s history, heritage, and legacy.
Several pieces of equipment require additional supplies such as PLA filament, vinyl, and metal backings. Some supplies are available for purchase in our learning spaces. Customers ages 13 and up who have signed the Experiential Learning Agreement and Equipment Use Policy, which is available to sign in-person at any of the four learning spaces, and live in Fayette County or a reciprocal county receive an $8 credit each month for material purchases. If you exceed this credit, you can still purchase additional supplies using credit, Mobile App Pay or Mobile Pay, or tapping to pay.
By using a Library-owned public computer, or by connecting your personally-owned computer or device to the LPL network, you agree to adhere to this policy. Violation of any part of this policy may result in termination of the customer’s session, with the possible loss of computer or library privileges for flagrant or repeated violation(s) at the Library's sole and exclusive discretion. The Community Collections consist of objects shared from local community residents and organizations. Individuals have lent items of local significance to the library to give the larger community awareness and access.
Advisory Board
Laura Hatfield, Superintendent of Community Engagement for Lexington Parks & Recreation, manages Lexington Parks five community centers, Volunteer Program, Partnership Program and marketing team. In this position for five years and previously serving as Director of ONE Lexington and the Executive Director for Partners for Youth, Laura has been with the Lexington Fayette County Government for over 15 years.
Advisory Board
Elizabeth has been a member of the Lexington Police Department since 1998. After retiring from sworn duty in 2019, she returned to the department as a polygraph examiner and background investigator. In her current position, she coordinates with multiple divisions in the Urban County Government to ensure the fair hiring of qualified applicants.

We can supplement your curriculum with specially-selected books on a particular topic or provide your classroom with specially-selected books for your students' pleasure reading.

Please complete this form to request a Preschool Storytime Kit. Kits may be borrowed for 2 weeks. Each kit contains: 5-7 books, a binder with songs, action rhymes, and fingerplays, and several classroom manipulatives for activities.
